Richmond

A taste of Farmhouse warmth in Queensland.

At the heart of Richmond House, lies a deep reverence for warmth, character, and the art of the handmade. The name ‘Richmond’ evokes a sense of storied heritage — a home that feels as though it has always belonged to its land. Distinct in character, unforgettable in mood, and inspired by the farmhouse traditions of the surrounding countryside, the real richness lies within its walls.

More than a house. A homage to the warmth and soul of living.

A sanctuary, steeped in character.

Beyond the front door, each material and surface tells its own story. Reclaimed brick anchors the home with an earthy, time-worn gravitas, while limestone surfaces bring a cool elegance that grounds the warm palette. The design philosophy here is one of honest materials and enduring craft — where every texture invites you to slow down and take notice.

Craftsmanship rooted in tradition.

With a focus on authenticity, we drew from the finest traditions of farmhouse design to create something truly enduring. Custom hardwood cabinets — hand-built and finished with care — anchor the kitchen and joinery throughout the home. Their natural grain and robust form speak to a time when furniture was made to last generations.

We embraced warm, moody tones throughout — deep ochres, earthy umbers, and rich shadows that shift beautifully with the changing light. Traditional wood panelling adorns the walls of the main living spaces, lending a depth and intimacy that cool, contemporary finishes simply cannot replicate.

To ground the home, reclaimed brick feature walls and robust limestone thresholds create a welcoming sense of arrival — as though the house has earned its place on the land over many decades.

Bronze inlay flooring traces the transition between spaces, a subtle yet striking detail that catches the warm glow of the designer lighting throughout. Each bronze line is a quiet nod to the artisan’s hand — a signature woven into the very foundation of the home.

Traditional wood panelling adorns the main spaces, its rich tone and tactile depth evoking the great farmhouses of a bygone era. The panelling has been crafted with care, its proportions considered and its finish warm — a backdrop that only improves with age.

Every corner of the home breathes uniqueness, brought to life through the exclusive use of artisanal, custom-crafted elements. No two details are identical — each piece is considered, placed with intention, and made to endure.

Designer lighting throughout the home has been selected to enhance the warm, moody atmosphere — casting a golden glow that flatters the rich timber, brick, and stone at every hour of the day. Lighting here is not an afterthought; it is architecture.

The bronze inlay floors and handmade hardwood cabinetry ensure Richmond House’s allure will only deepen with time. Our wish for its new residents is to feel a profound connection to the craft of building — as though they are the rightful custodians of something rare, without sacrificing a single modern comfort.
